Xiaomi's Global Expansion: The 34-Inch G34WQi 2026 Curved Gaming Monitor Now Available in Australia
Xiaomi has quietly expanded its global presence with the release of the Curved Gaming Monitor G34WQi 2026 in Australia, marking the first market outside China to receive this display. The monitor was initially unveiled globally in late 2025 and is currently only available in Australia and China, where it's sold under the Redmi brand. Xiaomi's global strategy remains somewhat elusive, as they haven't disclosed plans for availability in other regions.
The G34WQi 2026 boasts a 34-inch WQHD panel with a 3440 × 1440 resolution and a 21:9 aspect ratio, designed to mimic natural eye movement with a 1500R curve. This curve ensures consistent viewing distance across the screen, offering approximately 30% more screen space than standard 16:9 displays, which is advantageous for both gaming and multitasking.
In terms of gaming performance, the monitor supports a 180Hz refresh rate and a 1ms GTG response time, minimizing motion blur and ghosting in fast-paced scenes. FreeSync Premium further enhances the experience by synchronizing the refresh rate with the GPU, reducing tearing and stuttering.
The display meets HDR 400 standards, achieving a peak brightness of 400 nits and a 3500:1 contrast ratio for enhanced dark-to-bright area differentiation. Color coverage includes 95% DCI-P3 and 100% sRGB, with support for 10-bit color depth and up to 1.07 billion colors. Xiaomi guarantees color accuracy with a Delta E below 2.
For extended use, the panel is TÜV Rheinland certified for low blue light and employs DC dimming to reduce flicker. The monitor's stand features height adjustment, tilt, swivel, and VESA wall mounting at 100 × 100 mm. It weighs 6.5 kg with the stand and features ultra-narrow bezels.
Connectivity options include two DisplayPort 1.4 ports, two HDMI 2.0 ports, one audio port, and one DC IN port. The power input is rated at 24V 2.71A, with a total power consumption of 65W. Viewing angles are rated at 178 degrees horizontally and vertically, and the physical dimensions with the stand are 811.3 mm by 277.3 mm by 521.5 mm.
In Australia, Xiaomi has priced the monitor at AUD 599, currently offering it at a discounted AUD 449, which converts to approximately $313. The monitor is expected to arrive in other markets soon, but Xiaomi has not disclosed further details.
